PB-LS-4 receives incoming packets from the network and transmits outgoing packets to the network. During this process, each PB-LS-4 performs framing and high-speed signaling for its media type. Before transmitting outgoing data packets, the PB-LS-4 encapsulates the packets received from the FPCs.
